Did you know?
- American children ages 2 - 5 spend an average of 32 hours per week in front of the TV.
- Simply viewing nature can help reduce stress in children.

- Spending time outside may lessen the symptoms of ADHD.

Welcome to COG Kids!

Our mission is simple – let's all get off the couch and get outside!

Chesapeake Outdoor Group (COG) Kids is a free group that promotes environmental stewardship in children through outdoor fun and adventure in the Annapolis & Chesapeake Bay area.

Free-play hours, family hikes, educational trips, volunteer efforts — we partner with local organizations for exclusive family events like these and more. When you join us, prepare to have fun, get messy and earn your bath.

Why COG Kids? Because research shows the important link between unstructured play outdoors and childhood development. Children who have free playtime outside are more likely to be healthier, get better grades in school, have higher self-esteem and be more creative. COG Kids is run by parents who understand this and live by it.

There’s no fee to register.  Come on in and explore!

You can also follow COG Kids on Facebook for current events and happenings.

A note to parents
COG Kids events require that parents stay with their children at all times. No childcare is ever provided. Instead, we encourage grown-ups to come prepared to make a memory with their child(ren).
